The hotel is conveniently located near the city centre, making it easy to walk to all the attractions in town. the room was comfortable with a nice view from the window. the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. the staff provided clear instructions and were friendly and helpful.
The doors in the hotel were a bit sticky, which was a minor inconvenience.

We had a fantastic stay at Gaia House. The host, Berti, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. She graciously allowed us to check in early and check out late without any additional charges. We truly felt welcomed and taken care of during our time there. The location was perfect, providing easy access to the center of York and even a great view of the balloon festival from our attic room. Although there were a few minor drawbacks, such as noisy neighbors and strong cooking smells, these did not overshadow the overall positive experience. The cleanliness of the place was commendable, and there were even refreshments in our room upon arrival. The towel provided was a bit small and went missing towards the end, but it did not significantly impact our stay. The only suggestion we have is to add another statuette, like a Buddha, next to the bath for added charm. we highly recommend Gaia House for a quiet retreat with a caring host and convenient location.

Lovely host who was communicative and flexible before our stay. The property had a cozy and aesthetic ambiance that made us feel at home. The easy access to bus stations and the city center was great, allowing us to explore the city without any hassle.
The towel provided was small and went missing towards the end of our stay. The lack of a warmer duvet made us feel quite cold, especially considering the chilly weather in the city.

The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe area, close to Nestles, the hospital, and within walking distance to the city center where the cathedral is located. the attic room, although small, is comfortable and well set out, with two velux windows that provide a light and airy atmosphere. On-street parking is available for a reasonable price of £2.00 a day.
Some guests experienced noise disturbances from the room below, which affected their rest for their onward journey.

Our host Berti was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The "Green Room" my friend stayed in was spacious and had a lovely view. The location was great, just a short walk or bus ride into the city center. , there was a nice cafe nearby where we could grab breakfast.
The state of the house was not up to par. The bathroom was dirty and unusable, with broken taps and a moldy shower.

Stayed at Gaia House for a few nights and had a great experience. The location is perfect, close to Nestles and the hospital, with a short walk to the Minster. The house itself is a charming terrace, clean and tidy with a lovely bathroom. My attic room was comfortable and well-designed, with lots of natural light from the velux windows. Berti, the owner, was friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. excellent value for money and a peaceful retreat.
Can recommend this hotel.
